The RN to BSN Accelerated Degree Program provides a fast track to the BSN for motivated registered nurses who wish to expand their skills beyond the clinical aspect of nursing and increase responsibility and leadership in their nursing career.

Program Overview
The Bloomfield College RN to BSN Accelerated Degree Program is uniquely designed for working professional Registered Nurses (RNs) who have attained an associate’s degree or diploma in nursing and have an active New Jersey RN license. It is intended to help complete your BSN degree at a faster pace.
Our accelerated sessions allow you the opportunity to maintain a healthy balance between work and academics with our flexible course offerings. Classes run on a 12-month calendar in a hybrid format combining in-person and online course options.
The Bloomfield RN to BSN Accelerated Degree Program emphasizes cultural awareness and prepares you to work in an ethnically diverse healthcare environment. Our faculty members are active scholars as well as teachers who are well versed in the most current clinical practices and techniques.
Program Completion
You can earn a BSN in 15-18 months by attending classes once a week. All College and General Education requirements must be met to earn the BSN degree; additional courses may be required.
Accreditation
The Nursing program at Bloomfield College is accredited by the New Jersey Board of Nursing and theCommission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission for the RN to BSN Accelerated Degree Program, you must meet the following requirements:

•Liability/malpractice insurance with minimum coverage of $1,000,000/3,000,000
•Current CPR Certification
•Minimum GPA of 2.5

Plans of Study
A total of 32 course units are required for graduation, including General Education courses. Bloomfield College will accept coursework taken at other accredited institutions for credit toward the degree, provided it meets the College criteria; all courses presented for transfer are subject to review by the College.
All College and General Education requirements must be met to earn the BSN degree; additional courses may be required. Transfer students (including RN to BSN students) must complete at least eight course units at Bloomfield College to meet the College residency requirement.

Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Education Certification
The program is designed to prepare students to teach at various levels in the State of New Jersey. To be eligible for any of the Teacher Education Certification Programs, candidates must have a BS/BA degree from an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and a minimum of 60cr in Liberal Arts.
Traditional Certification Programs
- Depending on the area of interest, programs exist for the following areas:
o Early Childhood (Pre K – Grade 3);
o Elementary (K – Grade 5);

o Secondary (Grades 9-12).
- All of these programs also require the successful completion of a mandatory 15-week Student Teaching internship.
Teacher of Students with Disabilities (Special Education) Program - TOSD
- This program is available as an endorsement to any New Jersey instructional certification. Eligibility to participate in this program is an instructional certification issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
P-3 Certification Program
- This Certification Program is offered to individuals with a Certificate of Eligibility to teach P-3 from the New Jersey Department of Education or who possess a Standard certification.
What does a typical schedule look like?
- The schedule is generally a block curriculum and is determined by the program of choice

- 15-week courses are held on Friday evenings, 6-9:45 pm during either September-December (Fall) or January-May (Spring)
- 7-week courses are held on Saturdays, 9 am-4:30 pm throughout the calendar year
- Summer courses are also on a 7-week cycle held in late afternoon or evening either M/W or T/Th
- Student Teaching is a full-time 15-week requirement that occurs M-F, 8:30am-3:30pm
All students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 AND all courses must be completed with a “C” or better. Students must also pass the appropriatePRAXISexamination for their discipline.
